Dear friends,
As part of our list of thanks, I wanted to also mark December as a month of giving at Joanna Buchanan. I have seen first hand how hard this year has been on those who have lost jobs, loved ones and any and all sense or normalcy. Food insecurity was such a huge problem before the pandemic and now it has just skyrocketed. Families who are struggling to provide adequate food for their children as a result of schools being closed are some of those hardest hit. The need to help lift up our neighbors all over the country is critical right now.
To do our small part to help, we will be donating 30% of all sales on Giving Tuesday to Kings Pantry in Bridgeport , CT and will continue to give 10% of sales throughout the month of December.
This pantry feeds an average of 1,700 people every week and are in need of not only food but a new refrigerator/freezer so that they can accommodate bigger deliveries from the main Connecticut Food Bank. Every time you make a purchase on our webshop, you will be directly helping those in need and the volunteers and staff doing this essential work on a daily basis all year long.
When you purchase a gift for your loved one, it will truly be a gift that keeps giving! We've also added a button at checkout for you to add your own donation. If you have anything to spare this season, we encourage you to to give what you can. Your generosity will impact thousands of food insecure people in Bridgeport for years to come.
